Mrs. Eleanor Mae Turcotte Crist, 87, of 2125 Heatherstone Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Monday, April 14, 2008, at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Crist was born September 11, 1920, in Essex County, MA, to the late Theodore and Evelyn Robertson Turcotte. Before moving to Mount Airy in 1997, Eleanor lived in Corona, CA, for many years, where she was an independent cosmetics salesman. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and David Allen of Mount Airy, two grandchildren, Terry Stange of Orange, MA, and Tim Allen of Athol, MA; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crist was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Crist; a daughter, Judith Bacon; and two brothers, Henry Turcotte and Albert Turcotte. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Athol, MA. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Becky Johnson and Michelle Bradwell, and the staff of Central Continuing Care, especially Vicki, Aaron, Linda, Debbie, Ramona, Rayney, and Ellen, for their love, care, and kindness shown to Eleanor during her illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
