Elisha "Eli" James Amos

Mr. Elisha James “Eli” Amos, age 27 of Stuart passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018.  He was born in Greensboro, NC on February 6, 1991.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William Charles Booker, Jr, Carol Tolbert Sheppard; his paternal grandfather, Emory “Mutt” Amos; and his maternal step-grandfather, Joel H. Sheppard.  Eli served in the United States Marine Corps and was a 2009 graduate of Patrick County High School.  He was a member of High Point Baptist Church.  Eli always had a smile, loved life to the fullest, and never met a stranger.  To have known him was to have loved him.

            Surviving are his parents, Terry and Robin Amos of Stuart; a sister and brother-in-law, Kristy and Brandon Hughes of Stuart; very special niece and nephew, Adalee and Emory Hughes; paternal grandmother, Lena Amos of Stuart; uncles, Jeff Amos of Stuart, Kent Amos and wife, Jennifer of Lawsonville, NC, Terry Booker of Martinsville, William Charles “Chip” Booker III of Stuart; and special cousins, Alexandra Booker, Ariel Booker, Hunter Booker, Jessica Amos, Jordan Amos.

            A celebration of life will be held Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Wayne Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in the High Point Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the High Point Baptist Church c/o Donna Shough, 434 American Legion Rd., Stuart, VA 24171.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
