Elissa Dawn Simmons Marion

Mrs. Elissa Dawn Simmons Marion, 36, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Marion was born March 3, 1981, in Surry County, the daughter of Edgar Wayne Simmons and Kathy Lynn Hall Simmons. She is survived by a daughter, Jasmine Savannah Marion of Mount Airy; two sons, Bryson Taylor Kornbrust and Josiah Scott Marion, both of Mount Airy; her mother, Kathy Lynn Hall Simmons and her fiancé, Tony Creed, of Mount Airy; her father and stepmother, Edgar Wayne and Cathy Simmons of Mount Airy; a half-brother and his wife, Michael and Samantha Vaughn of Jacksonville; a niece, Jessica Nicole Vaughn Lopez of Mount Airy; and a nephew, Michael Tyler Vaughn of Mount Airy. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at 3:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Mickey Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Gunnell Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:30 until 3:30 PM at the funeral home. At other times, the family welcomes friends to the Simmons home at 304 Pender Street, Mount Airy. Flowers will be appreciated, or memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
