Elizabeth Jo Anne Johnson Bryant

Mrs. Elizabeth Jo Anne Johnson Bryant, 78, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday morning, March 8, 2018, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Bryant was born November 6, 1939, in Surry County, one of seven children born to the late King Brady and Mary McHone Johnson. Jo Anne was a loving homemaker and a faithful member of Blues Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Randall Wade Bryant of the home; a daughter, Pamela Bryant of Advance; a son and daughter-in-law, Randall Wade Bryant, II and Sarah Bryant of Mount Airy; two grandsons, Randall Wade Bryant, III (Tré) and his wife, Kendall, of Galax, VA, and Jayle Bryant of Mount Airy; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Bryant of Mount Airy and Micheal Bryant of Galax, VA; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Georgia and Bill Lundy, Patty Stafford, Edith and Paul Owen, and Linda and Danny Martin, all of Mount Airy; a sister-in-law, Betty Sue Johnson of Mount Airy; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by two brothers, Clayton Johnson and Eugene Brady Johnson. The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 11, 2018, at 2:30 PM at Blues Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Travis Sechrist and the Rev. Sammy Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:30 PM at the church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Blues Grove Baptist Church Missionary Fund, 3607 Red Brush Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
