Elizabeth Jacqueline Sleight Nunn

On Saturday, November 6, 2021, Elizabeth Jacqueline Sleight Nunn, 88, passed away peacefully at her son’s home in Greenville. Mrs. Nunn was born August 21, 1933, in Surry County, the daughter of the late George Franklin and Minnie Ruth Payne Sleight. She lived most of her life in Ararat, VA. She is survived by her son, Dr. Michael Nunn and his wife, Kathy Nunn, of Greenville; her granddaughters, Elizabeth Nunn of Greenville and Morgan Nunn of Ararat, VA; a great-granddaughter, Happy Madison Ann Martin of Meadows of Dan, VA; a sister, Christine Ayers of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nunn was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Odell Nunn; a daughter, Sheila Nunn Reece; a brother, Richard Franklin Sleight; and two sisters, Nancy Stanley and Margaret Smith. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 13, 2021, from noon until 1:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. A graveside service will follow at Church of Christ Cemetery in Dry Pond, with the Rev. Fonda Younger officiating.
