Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Goings Pack, age 85 of Dobson, NC, entered her heavenly home on December 27, 2024. She was born on August 22, 1939, in Surry County to the late William Henley Goings and Zella Lowe Goings. She was a “daddy’s girl” from day one. He was the only one to affectionately call her “Lib.” She graduated from Appalachian State University at which time she began her 30 years teaching career at Surry Central High School. She was dearly loved and respected by all of her students and the faculty. She was a devout Christian and longtime member of Central View Baptist Church where she kept the nursery and taught Sunday School for many years. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Carl Marion Pack; her beloved son, Phillip Carlton Pack; her dear brother, Gray Goings; her sweet sister-in-law, Nelda Goings; her precious brother-in-law, Franklin Gravely; and a special nephew, Greg Goings. She was also preceded in death by many other close friends and family members too numerous to mention but not forgotten. Ann is survived by her daughter-in-law, Robin Weaver Pack of Galax, VA; her grandchildren, Austin Pack (Sierra) of Winter Garden, FL, Caleb Pack (Faith) of Sparta, NC, and Carleigh Anne Pack Agee (Cale) of Goodview, VA. She has 4 great grandchildren, Reeves Samuel Pack, Grayson Phillip Thomas Pack, Rory Holden Pack, and Russell Grady Pack. She is also survived by her brother, Clarence Goings; her sister, Linda Gravely; her sister-in-law, Roena Goings; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Ann was ready to go see Jesus and reunite with Carl and Phil; something she shared often over the past month. Always a smile on her face, she would say: “I’m ready to go home.” A funeral service will be held by the family at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, NC at 11:30am on Monday December 30, 2024. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to: Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, PO Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017, Flat Top Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Trust Fund, PO Box 204, Toast, NC 27049, or Central View Baptist Church, 1088 White Dirt Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
