Ellen Zelosky Mahr

Mrs. Ellen Zelosky Mahr, 87, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday morning, January 27, 2012, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Mahr was born January 31, 1924, in Summit County, OH, the daughter of the late Peter and Julia Kopisciansky Zelosky. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church. She is survived by a son and two daughters-in-law, Jim and Diane Mahr of Mount Airy and Becky Mahr of Clearwater, FL; three grandchildren and their spouses, Megan and Adam Johnson of Dobson, Daniel and Kayla Mahr of Mount Airy, and Jennifer Mahr of Mount Airy; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Johnson and Jacob Johnson; and a sister, Tessie Novak of Ohio. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mahr was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Peter Mahr; two sons, John Mahr and William Mahr; and a sister, Marcie Slusser. There are no local services planned. A graveside service is being planned at Meadowlawn Memorial Park in New Port Richey, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy and Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens in New Port Richey, FL, are serving the Mahr family.
