Elmer Ray White

Mr. Elmer Ray White age 61 of Dobson NC husband of Mrs. Thelma Golding White passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born August 27, 1946 in Surry County to Mary Mears White and the late Ulyss Elmer White. He was a member of Laurel Bluff Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver. Surviving are his wife, Thelma G. White and his mother, Mary M. White both of the home, a daughter, Kathy Galyean, Mt. Airy, a son-in-law, Wayne Galyean, Mt. Airy, NC, a son, Ricky White, Mt. Airy, two grandchildren, Jacob Galyean and Corey Galyean both of Mt. Airy. In addition to his father, Mr. White was preceded in death by a sister, Frankie Lee White and a brother, Scottie Joe White. Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Friday, December 7, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy conducted by Rev. Stewart Roden and Dr. Rick Jackson. Burial will follow in the Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, 1:30 PM until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home.
