Elsie Lee Cagle Easter

Mrs. Elsie Lee Hawks Cagle Easter, 90, of Cana, VA, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020.  Mrs. Easter was born November 11, 1930, in Carroll County, VA, one of ten children born to the late Shade and Litha Edwards Hawks.  Elsie was a homemaker and a member of Sandy Ridge Primitive Baptist Church.  She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Danny Carter of Cana, VA, and Connie and Jimmy Guynn of Fancy Gap, VA; three sons and four daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Marilyn Cagle of Henderson, TN, Jack and Beth Cagle of Cana, VA, Jeffery and Robin Cagle of Hillsville, VA, and Gail Cagle of Mocksville; twenty-one grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Vernon Surratt of Lambsburg, VA; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Easter was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Winford Cagle; her second husband, Garnett Easter; two sons, Leroy Cagle and Bernard Cagle; four sisters, Beulah Hawks, Gladys Crotts, Effie McMillian, and Mazie Creed; and four brothers, Hobert Hawks, Walter Hawks, Howard Hawks, and Lawrence Hawks.  The funeral service will be held Monday, December 21, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Sandy Ridge Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder V.J. Hawks, Elder Arwood Edwards, and Elder Lacy Gates officiating.  Burial will follow in the Marion Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the church.  Due to public health concerns, attendees are requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
