Elsie Reece Childress

Mrs. Elsie Reece Childress, 83, of Dobson, passed away at her home on Wednesday May 27, 2009 after an extended illness. She was born in Surry County on May 5, 1926 to the late David and Jane Reece. Mrs. Childress was retired from Wayne Farms and of the Primitive Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband of twenty-three years, Mr. Arley Herbert Childress of the home; a son, Ray Reece of Mount Airy; a step-son, Kenneth and wife Robin Childress of Florida; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dewey Reece and Calvin Reece. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Childress was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. A graveside service will be held on Monday June 1, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Rayton Puckett and burial to follow. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday May 30, 2009 at Moody-Davis Funeral Home.
