Elsie Grace Baker Roberts

Mrs. Elsie Grace Baker Roberts, 94, of Elkin, formerly of Arlington, VA, passed away Friday, March 4, 2011, at Westwood Hills Nursing Center in Wilkesboro. She was born August 18, 1916, in Marion County, WV, to the late Frank Baker and Grace Minnear Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy G. Roberts; two infant sons, Larry Roberts and David Roberts; a sister, Edna Hess; and four brothers, Tola Baker, Leon Baker, Roy Baker, and Robert Baker. She was a retired manager of G.C. Murphy in Washington, DC, and a member of Salem Fork Christian Church. Surviving are a sister, Elma Marteney of Elkin; and several special nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Salem Fork Christian Church, with the Rev. June Haislip officiating. Burial will follow in the National Memorial Park Cemetery in Falls Church, VA. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson.
