Mrs. Elva Mae Quesenberry Danley, 83, of Ararat, passed away Tuesday evening, May 26, 2020. She was born May 10, 1937, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Lee Davis Quesenberry and Ethel Virginia Taylor Quesenberry. She retired from Kentucky Derby Hosiery after many years of service. Left to cherish her memories are two daughters and sons-in-law, Jannie and Paul Hensley and Eugenia and Gray Smith; her grandchildren, Billy and Christina Smith, Gregory and Tanya Smith, Gina and Andrew Taylor, and Joseph Edwards; her great-grandchildren, William Smith, Katie Smith, Aiden Smith, Kyndal Smith, Graison Taylor, and Sophia Taylor; two sisters, Dolly Mayes and Polly Lawson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Danley was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hadley Danley; a grandson, Danny Bowman; four sisters, Delia Stevens, Thelma Durman, Sarah Ethel Quesenberry, and Mae Gwyn; and four brothers, Carl Davis Quesenberry, David Preston Quesenberry, Franklin Quesenberry, and Dempsey Quesenberry. Respecting the current limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), there will be a private graveside service at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the Danley family for all the love and support given to Elva throughout the years. Also, a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Twelve Oaks for the great care given to Elva.
