Mrs. Elvie Martin Amburn, age 84 of 265 S. Boyles Street, Pilot Mountain, NC widow of Mr. Claron Alden Amburn passed away Sunday morning, April 13, 2008 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born July 7, 1923 in Surry County to the late Prather and Sinda Martin Martin. She was a homemaker and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Johnny Bruner, Ararat, NC, a son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Gaye Amburn of Greensboro, NC, four grandchildren and spouses, Dean Amburn, Washington, DC, Nathan and Christie Amburn, Georgetown, TX, Scott and Valerie Bruner, Ararat, NC, Gray and Chelli Bruner, Siloam, six great grandchildren, and a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Verlon Clifton, Mt. Airy, special caregiver and niece, Bonita Hull, Mt. Airy, NC, several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Amburn was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Martin and Ross Martin. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy conducted by Rev. F. Eugene Sherrill. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Monday at Moody Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 316 West Main Street, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041.
