Emma Ruth Clark Jenkins

Emma Ruth Clark Jenkins passed away peacefully early on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Twelve Oaks Retirement Village in Mount Airy, NC. She was born on July 21, 1924 to the late Chester and Viola Clark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Edward Jenkins; one son, James Moody of New York, NY.; one brother, David Clark of Roanoke Rapids, NC.; four half brothers, J.T. Clark, Mayo Clark, Sam Clark, and Luther Clark all of Roanoke Rapids, NC.; and one half sister, Annie Bell Wilder of Roanoke Rapids, NC. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Ivan Utt of Cana, VA.; and her two sons and daughters-in-law Ed and Gloria Jenkins of Winchester, VA and Jerry and Hazel Moody of Seaboard, NC; her grandchildren Belinda Pike of Winston Salem, NC; Ashley Jenkins of Cleveland, OH.; David Jenkins of Washington, D.C.; and Dianne Moody of New York, NY.; and 4 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Sunday, September 15 from 3 to 4 PM. A family graveside service will immediately follow at Solid Rock Baptist Church cemetery at 4:00 P.M. with the Chaplain Kevin Wilson presiding.
