Emmett Thomas Tucker

Mr. Emmett Thomas Tucker, 87, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry County on September 22, 1928 to the late Earl and Nealie Simmons Tucker. Mr. Tucker was a retired Electrician from Duke Power and Cross Creek Apparel and was of the Methodist faith. He is survived by a daughter, Debbie Denny of Pilot Mountain; a son and daughter-in-law, Trent Tucker and Gina of Yadkinville; grandchildren and spouses, Drew Denny and Sloan, Thomas Denny and Shannon, Alex Denny and Lydia, and Olivia Tucker; great grandchildren, McCall Denny, Whitman Denny, Jackson Denny, and Benjamin Denny; a sister, Myrtie Snyder of Pinnacle. In addition to his parents, Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Carpenter Tucker; a brother, Ralph Tucker. A graveside service will be held Monday, May 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery with Mr. Andrew Gibbons officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
