Mrs. Emmie Susan Creed Crissman, 91, of 655 Old Creed Road, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2006, at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Crissman was born January 7, 1915, in Surry County, to the late Richard Zane and Minnie Alberta Smith Creed. She was a homemaker and a member of Dover Baptist Church. She is survived by a sister, Faye Danley of Mount Airy; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Clayton Creed, Lee and Elaine Creed, Elbert and Rosa Creed, and Coy and Ila Mae Creed, all of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crissman was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Henry Crissman; and a brother, Richard Alvin Creed. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at 11:00 AM at Dover Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. J. Cecil Hill, and burial will follow in the Dover Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes before the funeral service.
