Eric Dale Holder was born on March 29, 1952 in Elkin, NC. Dale’s sunset came on April 23, 2016 when he went home to his Heavenly Father. Dale was born to Rufus Quentin and Minnie Dockery Holder. He was preceded in death by a sister, Janet H. Payne, and his parents Quentin and Minnie Holder. Dale is survived by his sister, Diana H. Anthony of the home. She has been his mother/care-giver for the last three years. He is also survived by two nephews, Brian (Brenda) Anthony and Kirby Anthony; and a great-niece Katlin Anthony. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 26 from 12:30-2:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson. The service will immediately follow at 2:00 in the chapel by the Rev. Joe Lambert with burial at Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church cemetery. Dale was a “special child”, who stole the heart of everyone he met. He knew no strangers, and he especially loved westerns and law enforcement of any kind. He delighted in hearing a siren, or seeing their flashing lights. God had a special purpose for Dale, and his 64 years of life can be attributed in part to the unending love and care of his mom and dad, and in later years by his sister. Dale’s child-like heart is now dancing in Heaven as he sees sights we can only imagine.
