Erin Tamara Russell Slate

Mrs. Erin Tamara Russell Slate, age 41, of Stuart, Virginia departed this earthly life and gained her angel wings on Friday, January 5, 2024, at UNC Medical Center of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She was born in Maryland on January 17, 1982, to Thomas Bruce Russell and the late Mary Janice Talley Russell. Erin was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Janice Talley Russell. Erin will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She loved her children so much and was so very proud of each one of them. She loved animals, especially dogs. She was very strong-willed and strong in her faith. Erin attended Mayo Mountain Church. Erin loved God, her family, and always had a welcoming spirit to everyone she met. Erin will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish the special memories of Erin Slate are her husband, Mitchell Steve Slate of the home; five children, Carly Rein McKenzie of Norton, Virginia, Lillian Dasia McKenzie of Stuart, Virginia, Elijah Hunter Russell of Wise, Virginia, Noah Gabriel Russell of Wise, Virginia, Steven Isaiah Slate of Stuart, Virginia; three brothers, Patrick Largen Russell of Stuart, Virginia, Brian McGale Russell of Salem, Virginia, Collin Joshua Russell of Stuart, Virginia; her father and step-mother, Thomas Bruce Russell (Barbara) of Stuart, Virginia; and several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

A funeral service for Mrs. Erin Slate will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Reverend David Heath officiating. The burial will be private. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Thursday afternoon at the funeral home.
