Erline King Miller

Mrs. Erline King Miller, 87, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday morning, September 16, 2017, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Miller was born July 25, 1930, in Surry County, one of five daughters born to the late Hugh Wilbur and Mary Lena Beasley King. Erline worked at Northwestern Bank for many years. She was a longtime and faithful member of Grace Moravian Church, serving in various capacities all through the years. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and always considered family time most valuable. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, James Robert Miller of the home; a daughter, Mary Anna Arnold of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, James David and Cindy Lawson Miller of Mount Airy; two grandsons and their wives, Robert and Amy Arnold of Stokesdale and Daniel and Priscilla Arnold of Mooresville; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Arnold, Alan Arnold, and Cori Arnold; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Polly Cox and Frances and Bill Caudle, all of Mount Airy; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma King Travis and Barbara King Forrest. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at 1:00 PM at Grace Moravian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Neil Routh officiating. Burial will follow in God’s Acre. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM in the sanctuary at Grace Moravian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Moravian Church, 1401 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
