Ernest Issac Hall

Mr. Ernest Issac Hall, 79, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born September 13, 1931, in Surry County, to the late Charlie Wheeler and Mamie Gravely Hall. He was a saw miller and a member of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a daughter, Mannie Ann Hall Beketov of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Ernest J. and Willa Gwynn of Mount Airy; two grandchildren and a spouse, Sarah Nichole Browder of Mount Airy and Christy Ann and Cory King of Ararat, VA; four great-grandchildren, Kaylee Jade Potts of Mount Airy, and Dierks Kemp Daughenbaugh, Danii Lea Daughenbaugh, and Montana Grace King, all of Ararat, VA; and a sister, Lillian "Sis" Doss of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Mae Gwynn Hall; a stepson, Herman Whitaker; two sisters, Patty George and Annie Easter; and five brothers, Glenn Hall, Reid Hall, Herbert Hall, Bill Hall, and Wayne Hall. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Old Hollow Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Stewart Roten officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 PM until the time for Mr. Hall to be taken to the cemetery for the service.
