Ernie Jean Bowman

Mrs. Ernie Jean Sechrist Bowman, 83, of Cana, VA passed away Monday, November 11, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.  She was born in Carroll County on March 2, 1936 to the late General and Cora Johnson Sechrist.  Mrs. Bowman was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends.  She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Posey Clayton Jones, Debbie and Ralph Gwynn, Sandra and Tony Sanchez, Susan and Tony Horton; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy T. Sechrist; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Hampton Bowman; a son, Stephen Wade Bowman; a grandson Troy Gwynn; brothers, Paul and Grady Sechrist.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Anthony Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:30 PM until the time of the service.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
