Mr. Ernie Lee Mobley, 55, of Chambersburg, PA, formerly of Mount Airy, NC, died Friday, January 21, 2011, after an extended illness. Born March 16, 1955, in Winston-Salem, NC, to the late Ernest Washington and Bertha Golding Mobley. Mr. Mobley and his family lived in Mount Airy, NC, for a few years before moving to Maryland. Mr. Mobley attended schools and grew up in Maryland before moving to Pennsylvania where he worked on local farms and in restaurants. An avid motorcycle fan, Mr. Mobley enjoyed riding his Kawasaki until his failing health forced him to stop. Mr. Mobley also lifted weights for years before stopping due to illness. Surviving are two sisters, Sylvia Jacobs of Eldersburg, MD, and Nancy Carol Calvagna and her husband, Sal, of Holbrook, NY; two nephews, R.J. Jacobs of Linthicum Heights, MD, and Salvatore A. Calvagna of Holbrook, NY; an aunt, Ida Shelton of Toast, NC; numerous cousins, including special cousins Donald and Mary Nell Byrd of Mount Airy, NC, and Bobby Bass of Wilson, NC; and dear friends and neighbors, Harold and Carolyn Rosenberry of Chambersburg, PA. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 28, 2011, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
