Mrs. Essie Edna Moseley Gillespie Sisk, 80, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Surry County on May 27, 1940 to the late Claude Augustus and Essie Belton Moseley. Mrs. Sisk was a loving homemaker who will be dearly missed, and a longtime faithful member of Stewarts Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Sisk had the most loving and sweet spirit. People would comment about how Edna was the sweetest lady they ever knew. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Mike Mickey; a son, Ronnie Sisk; grandchildren, Evan and Anna Mickey, Tate Mickey, Lucas Mickey, Kayla Sisk; great grandchildren, Cameron, Kayleigh, Willow, and Anne Mae; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and James Pruitt; special nieces and caregivers, Dana Pruitt, and Suzanne Collins; many other extended family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sisk was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Gray Sisk; her first husband, Lionel Gillespie; a son, Kevin Gillespie; a grandchild, Joshua Sisk; a sister and brother-in-law, Luvenia and Bill Simmons; a brother and sister-in-law, Clayton and Carolene Moseley. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens with the Elder Gary Lowe, Elder Rodney Marshall, and Elder Jimmy Joyce officiating. Mrs. Sisk will lie-in-state Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Stewarts Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 198 Pepper Mill Ln., Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
