Ester Hernandez

Mrs. Esther Garcia Hernandez, 97, of Mt. Airy passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Mexico on January 3, 1923 to the late Ilario Garcia and Rosa Ramirez Rodriguez.  Mrs. Hernandez was a loving homemaker who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.  She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Hernandez; sons and daughters-in-law, Jose and Carmen Hernandez, Ruben and Margarita Hernandez, Abel and Isabel Hernandez; fifteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and many great great grandchildren; sisters, Maria Luisa Garcia, and Maria Elena Garcia; a brother, Anastacio Garcia; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hernandez was preceded in death by her husband, Jose “Andres” Hernandez; a grandchild, Everardo Hernandez; a sister, Genoveva Garcia; brothers, Gregorio Garcia and Jose Garcia.  A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Cristo Vive 125 Sugar Pine Tr., Mt. Airy, NC 27030 with Pastor Antonio Landa officiating.  Burial will follow in Second Chance Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church.  Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
