Ethel Pruitt Anderson

Mrs. Ethel Pruitt Anderson of Mount Airy, widow of Austin Harold Anderson, passed away on Wednesday May 16, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Anderson was born to the late Joshua and Kate Pruitt of Claudville, VA. She was a retired sales associate with J.C. Penny's Company and a member of the Eastern Star in Miami, FL. She was the beloved mother of a daughter, Jo Ann Anderson Mendes of Mount Airy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Nancy Anderson of Miami, FL and Jerry and Mary Jean Anderson of Gainesville, FL; seven grandchildren, Tina Mendes Jenkins, Lisa Anderson Kepley, Jill Anderson Blanco, Bruce Douglas Anderson, Jr., Michael Mendes, Jr., Jennifer Anderson and Richard Anderson; nine great-grandchildren, Katie Kepley, Anna Kepley, Will Jenkins, Austin Mendes, Molly Mendes, Nicholas Blanco, Emily Blanco, Ellie Anderson, Ryan Anderson, two sisters, Casteen Cox and Margaret Smith both of Mt. Airy, NC and a special life long friend, Vera Ashburn, Mt. Airy, NC. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by several sisters and brothers. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy conducted by Rev. Robert Blake. Entombment will follow in the Skyline Memory Garden Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Friday night at Moody Funeral Home.
