Ethel Leona Combs Talley

Mrs. Ethel Leona Combs Talley age 96 of 230 Orchard Street, Mt. Airy, NC widow of Mr. Carl Talley passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born August 15, 1914 in Surry County to the late Dan and Maggie Campbell Combs. She was a member of the Salvation Army and was a homemaker. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Hugh and Tommye Talley, of Morristown, TN, Jimmy and Betty Jean Talley of King, NC, Steve and Dianne Talley of Mt. Airy, eight grandchildren, Susan Talley Forsburg, Tanya Talley Schmidt, Tommye "Dee Dee" Talley Dixon, Karla Talley Kurgier, Cheryl Talley Wang, Blake Talley, Leigh Ann Talley and Engle Talley Cook, several great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy conducted by Major Michael Rogers. Entombment will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday at Moody Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 651 South Street, Mt. Airy, NC 27030
