Ethel May York

Miss Ethel May York age 80 of 123 Renea Lane, Mount Airy, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Miss York was born in Surry County on July 12, 1927 daughter of the late Felix York and Rosie Johnson York and was retired from Cross Creek Apparel. Surviving are a son, Jimmie Wayne York of Mount Airy; a grandson, Jimmie Noisey of Mount Airy; a great-grandson, Christian Noisey of Mount Airy; a sister, Annie McBride of Mount Airy and a brother and sister-in-law, James and Elaine York of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents Miss York was preceded in death by a daughter Gloria Howlett, a grandson Michael York, a great granddaughter Hanna Lynn Noisey, two sisters Eunice Edwards and Lucille Corn and by a brother Randall York. Graveside services will be held Wednesday August 1, 2007 at 2:00 P.M at Oakdale Cemetery with services conducted by Rev. Victor Lyons. The family will receive friends Tuesday night 7 to 9 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
