Etoile Lowe Galyean

Mrs. Etoile Lowe Galyean, age 88 of Lowgap, passed away on Saturday morning, July 8, 2023, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy.  Mrs. Galyean was born on February 17, 1935, in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Claude and Lona Galyean Lowe.  Etoile was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Kim Galyean Hiatt and husband Chris; son and daughter-in-law, Robbie Galyean and wife Lisa; granddaughter, Jessica Hiatt Dix and husband Greg; one sister, Opaline Lowe Shockley; several nieces and nephews; and her precious dog, Bailey. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Galyean was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Hope Galyean; and an infant brother, Eldean Lowe.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church in Mount Airy with Reverend Randy Edwards and Preacher Chis Hiatt officiating.  Interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Lowgap.  The family will receive friends on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Northern Regional Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit and to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the compassionate care given to Mrs. Galyean.  Additionally, a special caregiver, Yun Snow, for loving and caring for Mrs. Galyean.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Faith Baptist Church, Food Pantry, P.O.
