Mrs. Etta “Marie” Rogers Bowman, 85 of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Bowman was born on February 2, 1937, in Surry County to the late Berkley and Lucy Mabe Rogers. Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Slate and Eddie; a son, Dale Midkiff; grandchildren Shannon Stone; great-grandchildren, Savannah Dove and Derek, Brycen McIntyre, Carter Halfman, Addison Halfman; two great great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley Bryant and Gene; along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. Bowman, a granddaughter, Christy Hill; a sister, Martha Miller; and two brothers, Leonard Rogers, and James M. Rogers. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Skyline Memory Gardens with Rev. Richard Loman officiating. Mrs. Bowman’s body will lie-in-state on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 12:30 until 1:30 at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Moody Funeral Services is serving the family.
