Eugene Russell Midkiff

Mr. Eugene Russell Midkiff age 84 of 231 Wrenn Avenue, Mount Airy, widower of Mary Ellen Marshall Midkiff, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at his home. Mr. Midkiff was born September 26, 1923 in Surry County son of the late James B. Midkiff and Pearl Brannock Midkiff. He was retired as director of the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation of the Department of Agriculture, was a life long member of First Baptist Church, life time master mason of Granite Masonic Lodge # 322, a member of the Scottish Rites in Winston-Salem, a member of the Elks Lodge and American Legion and a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII. Surviving are one sister, Norma M. Jones of Mount Airy, several nieces and nephews and a special friend Nancy Lovill of Mt. Airy. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Oakdale Cemetery. The service will be conducted by Dr. Roger Gilbert. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Midkiff was preceded in death by a brother, James Burton Midkiff. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church 714 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
