Eula Jean Grimes Martin

Mrs. Eula Jean Grimes Martin, 75, of Mt. Airy, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017, at her home. She was born in Surry County on March 9, 1942 to Rena Smith Grimes and the late Austin Grimes. Mrs. Martin was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by special friend, Roy Dunbar of Lowgap; daughters and son-in-law, Barbara and Tommy Fultz of Lowgap, Debbie Burris of Elkin; sons, Ricky Martin of Kentucky, Jimmy Martin of King; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; mother, Rena Grimes of Mt. Airy; sisters, Clara Golding, Peggy Grimes both of Mt. Airy, Louvenia Dye of Cana, VA; brothers, Bruce Grimes, Cleve Grimes both of Lowgap, Dwight Grimes of Mt. Airy; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by a brother, Olen Grimes. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Ivy Green Baptist Church with the Rev. Butch Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
