Eulala Dawson

Mrs. Eulala McMillian Dawson, 96, of Cana, VA passed away at the Galax Health and Rehab in Galax Sunday, August 12, 2018.  She was born April 13, 1922 to the late Samuel Cassell and Laura Elizabeth Dawson McMillian.  She retired from Carroll County School System and was a faithful member of Mount Bethel Moravian Church.  She is survived by her sons, Eugene “EJ” Dawson, Jr. of the home and John Dawson of Florida; sisters and a brother-in-law, Opal Thomas of Mt. Airy, and Mable and Lonnie Utt of Cana; brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen McMillian, Clinton and Gaye McMillian, and Ross McMillian all of Cana, Clayton and Darlene McMillian of Ararat, VA, and Mary Jane McMillian; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dawson was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Joseph Dawson; and brothers, Earl and Dwight McMillian.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Mount Bethel Moravian Church with Rev. Charles Fishel officiating.  Burial will follow in the church graveyard.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
