Eunice Ethel Collins Arrington

Mrs. Eunice Ethel Collins Arrington Age 98 of 4812 Westfield Rd. Mt. Airy, NC., widow of the late W.C. (Claude) Arrington whom she was married to for 60 years, passed away Tuesday September 4, 2007 at her home. Mrs. Arrington was born August 6, 1909 in Surry County to the late Robert S. and Ella Rose Wood Collins, she was a homemaker, the oldest living member of Woodville Baptist Church where she was a founding member of the WMU, she also loved to travel and was active in community activities as long as her health permitted. Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law Peggy and Roger Phillips of Pilot Mountain, Patti and George Summerlin of Morehead City, Phyllis and Ronald Dollyhigh of Winston Salem and Lana and Steve Iftner of Winston Salem, one son Banks Moorefield of Winston Salem, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, two sisters Virginia Love and Ruth Barnard both of Mt. Airy and very dear and special friends of the family Dr. Ben and Gaye Lawrence and Steven Troychak. In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Arrington was preceded in death by a sister Thelma Beasley. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning September 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Woodville Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev. Keith Love and Rev. J.Cecil Hill with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night 7 to 9 P.M. at Woodville Baptist Church where her body will remain until time of the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Woodville Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 5108 Westfield Rd. Mt. Airy, NC. 27030 or to the Mt. Airy Museum of Regional History 301 North Main St. Mt. Airy, NC. 27030. Moody Funeral Services of Mt. Airy will be assisting the Arrington Family.
