Eunice Rebecca Young

        Eunice Rebecca Holt Young, age 94 of Bassett, Virginia, passed away at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart on May 10, 2018.  She was born in Patrick County on January 24, 1924, to the late Rush Holt and Ella Wilson Holt.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Clay Young; three sisters, Pearl Blackard, Jane Ray, and Dallas Hensely Pulliam; and three brothers, Moir Holt, Harry Holt, and Noel Holt. Eunice retired from Bassett Walker with 25 years of service and was an Avon representative for 54 years until her declining health.  She was a member of Pocahontas Baptist Church in Bassett, Virginia.  Eunice was a very happy person and enjoyed life to the fullest.  She will be remembered as a loving and caring, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

        Surviving are one son, Ricky Young and wife, Lauren of Bassett; four grandchildren, Meredith Marie Young, Clayton Hudson Young, Michael McMillian, and Iesha McMillian; one sister, Norine Holt Buffkin of Martinsville; one brother, Jay Holt of Rocky Mount, and numerous nieces and nephews.

        Funeral services for Ms. Young will be conducted on Monday, May 14, 2018, at 11:00 am Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Rev. Jeffrey Buffkin officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in High Point Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home Monday morning.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com
