Eva Johnson Page, 91, of Upper Arlington, OH, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at Windsor Manor Retirement Home in Glendale, CA, after a long illness. Eva was born December 5, 1919, in Mount Airy, to Claude and Frances Johnson. She attended Salem College in Winston-Salem and graduated from Winston-Salem City Hospital School of Nursing. She married Walter S. Page, Jr. of Columbus, OH, on March 1, 1941, and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. As a registered nurse, she practiced for three years while he was overseas during World War II. She and Walter have lived in Winston-Salem, Raleigh, and Paterson, NJ, and since 1952 in Columbus, OH. A past member of Young Associates of the Columbus Symphony and Hannah Neil Mission, she was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Francey Porter of LaCanada, CA; a son, Walter S. Page, III (Beth) of Hermosa Beach, CA; two grandsons, Stevan D. Porter, Jr. (Michelle) of Madrid, Spain, and Charlie Porter of Manhattan Beach, CA; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Page was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Stevan D. Porter. A private family service was held in California, and interment will take place at Oakdale Cemetery on Saturday, April 9, 2011. The family is being served by Forest Lawn Funeral Parlor in Glendale, CA, and Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy.
