In Loving Memory of Eva Sue Shinault

A true angel on earth gained her heavenly wings on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. Sue was known by all who had the privilege to meet her as the most precious and sweetest woman one could encounter. She was the epitome of grace, kindness, and love, and she defined what it meant to be a devoted Pastor’s Wife. For over 50 years, she worked alongside her husband in ministry, touching countless lives with her unwavering faith and love. In addition to her partnership in ministry, she created her own legacy through a unique and heartfelt ministry—sending cards filled with inspirational words that touched more people than we will ever know. For any occasion, she would request ‘books of stamps’ instead of presents, to aid her mission of spreading encouragement and support. She found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren and was the loving caregiver to her family, often spending days at a time with her beloved family members, Faye and James, until their passing to their heavenly home. Her love and devotion to her family were immeasurable, and her heart was a place of refuge for all who sought comfort. Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Joy Shinault (Weldon), and her sons, Edward Shinault, Michael Shinault, and Eric Shinault (Lorie). She will be dearly missed by her four grandchildren: Cody Bullins, Corbin Bullins (Savannah), Isaac Shinault (Taylor), and Sydney Moore (Elijah), as well as her three great-grandchildren: Kaylee Bullins, Karrington Bullins, and Brayleigh Smith. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Lou Anders, one brother, Scott Hamm, and countless friends, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Bobby Joe Shinault, her father, Levi Joshua Hamm, her mother, Mary Martin Hamm, her brother, James Hamm, and her sister, Faye Johnson. Her spirit will live on in the many lives she touched, and she will be forever remembered for her love, her faith, and her selfless dedication to others. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Mount Airy Church of God of Prophecy with Brother Tommy Bailey and Sister Polly Wilcox officiating. Interment will follow in the Stevens Creek Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery in Fries, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 2 , 2025 at Church of God of Prophecy in Mount Airy  from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
