Eva Sue Towe

Mrs. Eva Sue Simmons Towe, 92, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  She was born October 28, 1928, in Surry County, to the late Thomas Settle and Lula Harris Simmons.  Mrs. Towe retired from Spencer’s Inc. after 26 years of employment and was a faithful member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.  She is survived by two daughters, Karen Orcutt and Sue Towe; a son, Mark Towe; two grandchildren, Stafford Allen Patterson, III and his wife, Courtney, and Thomas Patterson; a great-granddaughter, Mattie Patterson; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Towe was preceded in death by her husband, William Harrison Towe; a daughter-in-law, Anne Towe; a grandson, Zachary Towe; five sisters, Grace Hooker, Hazel Vaughn, Kate Marsh, Marge Yeatts, and Bess Weaver; and four brothers, Tommy Simmons, Walker Simmons, Wallace Simmons, and Caleb Simmons.  A graveside service will be held Monday, January 11, 2021, at 12:00 PM at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Terry Watson officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC  27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
