Evelyn June Warf Goard

Mrs. Evelyn June Warf Goard, 82, of 119 Efland Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday morning, October 16, 2011, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Goard was born January 24, 1929, in Russell County, VA, the daughter of the late Luther and Verna Adams Warf. She worked as a private duty sitter for many years and was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Robert Steven Goard of Marion; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Goard Boyd of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews; and her extended family from White Plains Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goard was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Goard; an infant daughter, Angela June Goard; and a sister; Alice Warf Lester. The funeral service will be held Monday, October 17, 2011, at 3:30 PM at White Plains Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Tucker and the Rev. Tom Delph officiating. Burial will follow Tuesday morning, October 18, 2011, at 9:30 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 2:30 until 3:30 PM at White Plains Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to White Plains Baptist Church, 614 Old Highway 601, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
