Evelyn Mae Allen Hill

Mrs. Evelyn Mae Allen Hill, 95, of Mount Airy, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 16, 2013, at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Hill was born October 4, 1917, in Cleveland County, the daughter of the William A.J. and Aurelia Ray Dover Allen. She was gracious, kind, and a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed life. She is survived by two daughters, Ruthie Goforth of Charlotte and Joyce Hill of Mississippi; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Linda Edwards of Pilot Mountain; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Hill; a daughter, Patricia Ann Edwards; and six brothers and sisters. The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Terry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at The Peoples Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at Central Continuing Care and the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Activity Fund at Central Continuing Care, 1287 Newsome Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
