Evelyn Parries York

Mrs. Evelyn Parries York age 85 of 5540 Oscar Lane, Kernersville, NC widow of Mr. Jack Cecil York passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born December 9, 1921 in Surry County to the late John and Liza Belton Parries. She was retired from Western Electric and was a member of Samaritan Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Carol York Pope and Ted Pope, Lexington, NC, a granddaughter and husband, Renee and Danny "Buck" Byerly, Kernersville, NC, two great grandchildren, Kimberly Byerly and D.J. Byerly both of Kernersville, NC, four sisters and a brother-in-law, Virginia Massey, and Lou Cole both of Mt. Airy, NC, Ruby Goins, Archdale, NC and Ruth and Robert Thacker, of Stuart, FL, a brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Nettie Parries, Mt. Airy, NC. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Skyline Memory Gardens conducted by Rev. Todd Byrd. The family will receive friends 1:00 PM Saturday until time for Mrs. York to be carried to the cemetery for the service. Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy is serving the York family.
