Mr. Everett Clifford Dawson, 94, of Ararat, VA, passed away at his home on Friday, March 13, 2020. He was born in Carroll County, VA, October 5, 1925, one of twelve children, to the late Alfred and Emma Hall Dawson. Mr. Dawson was a loving father and grandfather and a caring friend and neighbor. He retired as a machinist from United Technology and was well known throughout the community as an orchardist and a musician. He enjoyed playing a guitar, fiddle and banjo anytime he had the opportunity, but he took great pride in playing with his friends in the Foothills Band. Mr. Dawson was a man of smaller stature, but a pillar in his devout faith to his Lord and Savior. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Gail Dawson Hoofnagle, Kay Pittman and husband, Douglas, and Lynn Felts; his grandchildren, Tracy Eastridge, Kristina Marrero, Richard Warner, Emma McGraw and husband, Nathan, and Erin Loncharic; great-grandchildren, Abby Eastridge, Beth Eastridge, Lukas McGraw, Greyson McGraw, Triston Warner, Bradford Warner, Jaxon Warner, Carmen Marrero and Isabella Marrero; a great-great grandson, Noah; many cousins and friends; special friends, Lori and Ronnie Easter and the Foothills Band and his beloved dog, Fluffy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Antoinette Coulson Dawson; sisters, Iris Willis, Myrtle Marshall, Laura McMillian, Elsie Marshall, Ruth Ferguson, Lelia Moore, and Esther Mayes; brothers, Winfred Dawson, Howard Dawson, Harry Dawson, and Amos Dawson. Please join the family for a tribute and memorial service at Crooked Oak Moravian Church, Bear Trail, Cana, VA, September 18, 2021, at 1:30 PM with music and memories.
