Fairy Dobbins Wall

Mrs. Fairy Dobbins Wall, 84, widow of Mr. Henry F. Wall, of Elkin, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. She was born in Surry County on April 2, 1922 to the late Gilmer and Ada Dockery Dobbins. Mrs. Wall was retired from the Surry County School System where she taught at Mountain Park Elementary School for 33 years and was a faithful member of Bessie's Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors include two grandchildren, Jeff Wall and Katie Hilburn of Roswell, GA; a sister and a brother-in-law Kathleen and Oscar Dunigan of Elkin, NC; a brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Wanda Dobbins of Mt. Airy, NC. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wall was preceded in death by a son, Teddy Wall; a sister, Maurice Dobbins and a brother, Steve Dobbins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at Bessie's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Grose officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Moody-Davis Funeral Home where her body will remain until time to be taken to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
