Fannie Lee Easter Burkhart

Mrs. Fannie Lee Easter Burkhart, 91, of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, February 12, 2024.  Mrs. Burkhart was born October 29, 1932, in Carroll County, VA, to the late James J. and Lelia Maude Leonard Easter of Lambsburg, VA.  Fannie graduated from Lambsburg High School in 1950.  She retired from Perry Manufacturing Company as an engineer on April 9, 2008, after 58 years of service.  She was a member of Flippin Memorial Baptist Church.  Fannie served as a Sunday school teacher for over 40 years, and she also served as the treasurer for 25 years.  She was a member of the choir and loved singing in the choir.   She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kennis Sidney Burkhart, Jr. and Kathy Burkhart of Mount Airy; her grandchildren, Kennis Sidney “Kenny” Burkhart, III and his wife, Brandi, of Mount Airy and Dr. Brian Wesley Burkhart of Goldsboro; a great-grandson, Kennis Sidney “Cash” Burkhart, IV; her sisters, Grace Moore, Betty Jo Boyles, and Joan Creed; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Victor Kyle and Gail Easter, Leonard Wesley and Sherri Easter, and Penny Easter; and many, beloved nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burkhart was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Kennis Sidney Burkhart, Sr.; and her siblings, Willie Sue Easter Gregory, Bonnie Easter Snow, and James Franklin Easter.  The funeral service will be held Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Flippin Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tim Burton officiating.  Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be to the Flippin Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Kathy Burkhart, 2367 McBride Road, Mount Airy, NC  27030.
