Faye Irene Johnson Marion Atkins

Mrs. Faye Irene Johnson Marion Atkins, 78, of 110 Spring Air Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Atkins was born February 12, 1930, in Surry County, to the late Charlie and Ila Belle Hardy Johnson. She retired from Proctor-Silex Inc. and attended Little Mountain Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Greer Atkins of the home; two stepdaughters, Flora Jan Atkins and Karen Noonkester, both of Mount Airy; a stepson and his wife, William Scott and Irene Atkins; two grandchildren, Ryan Davis and John Davis, both of Dobson; five stepgrandchildren and their spouses, Angela Cave of Yadkinville, Matt and Lisa Weaver of Germanton, Samuel and Tabitha Noonkester of Newport News, VA, Daniel Carawan and Jordan Atkins, both of Mount Airy; several great-grandchildren; several great-stepgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Atkins was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Marion; a daughter, Rita Marion Davis; a son, Herman Marion; a sister, Vada Lewis; and three brothers, Fred Johnson, Marvin Johnson, and Grady Johnson. The funeral service will be held Friday, January 16, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Billy Watson and the Rev. Rayton Puckett, and entombment will follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
