Mrs. Faye Woodruff Beasley, 92, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday evening, September 1, 2022, at Northern Regional Hospital. Mrs. Beasley was born December 9, 1929, in Surry County, the daughter of the Rev. Jesse Franklin and Alma Quesinberry Woodruff. On October 26, 1946, Faye married Cecil Calvin “Red” Beasley, and together they were a vital part of the White Plains and Piney Grove communities for 69 years. She dedicated her life to the creation of a loving home for her family and was the source of ceaseless support to each of them in their activities. Faye was a longtime and faithful member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. She faithfully served the church in many roles, including the choir, the Women’s Missionary Union, the Bertha Chilton Sunday School Class, and the Hanging of the Green Decorating Committee. Additionally, Faye worked at Ellis Clothing Company in Downtown Mount Airy for many years, providing impeccable women’s clothing for professional and casual wear. She is survived by a daughter, Lynne Beasley Bickers of Leland; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis Beasley of Raleigh and Mike and Janice Beasley of Mount Airy; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Tina Beasley of Dobson, Brad and Chrissy Beasley of Mount Airy, Shane Easter and Ashley Clayton of Wake Forest, Christopher and Lindsey Beasley and Stephanie Beasley, all of Raleigh, Lara Johnson of Elizabethtown, and Chad and Wendi Bickers and Cristi and Anthony Nunn, all of Durham; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Audrey and Jesse Wright of Dobson; a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Tammy Woodruff of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Beasley was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Calvin “Red” Beasley; a son-in-law, Steve Bickers; her stepmother, Helen Johnson Woodruff; and a brother, Foy Woodruff. A graveside celebration of Faye’s life will be held Sunday, September 4, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Darrell Tate officiating. No formal visitation will be held. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the Skilled Nursing Staff at Northern Regional Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 1022, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
