Faye Edwards Bowman

Mrs. Faye Edwards Bowman, age 83, of Ararat, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at her home. She was born on May 27, 1940 in Carroll County to the late John and Edith Craddock Edwards.  She was a loving mother, and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  She was known for being a kind and generous lady and was known for her cooking with her church community, especially her chocolate pound cake.  Left to cherish her memory are a daughter and son-in-law, Rita Cooper (Gary); son and daughter-in-law, Joey Bowman (Susan); grandchildren, Michael Andrews, Jonathan Mansfield, Grace Cooper, Jack Bowman, Ella Cooper, and one sister.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Cordle Columbus Bowman; one sister; brothers, Perry, Posey, and Lindsey Edwards.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Doe Run Baptist Church with service conducted by Rev. Terry Vaughn, and Rev. Israel Gwyn.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time for the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Mrs. Bowman to the Doe Run Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 903 Doe Run Rd, Ararat, VA 24053 or to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1427 Edgewood Dr Suite 101, Mt Airy, NC 27030.
