Faye Katherine Smith Cox Eaton

Mrs. Faye Katherine Smith Cox Eaton, 74, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday morning, October 8, 2017, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Eaton was born September 5, 1943, in Surry County, one of five children born to the late Dennis Wiser Smith and Helen Gravely Walker. Faye was a devoted wife and mother, as well as a member of Victory Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Roger and Jeana Cox, Steven Cox, and Jeffrey and Tabatha Cox; six grandchildren, Whitney Cox, Alyssa Cox, Carlee Cox, Jasmine Cox, Will Cox, and Landon Cox; a stepdaughter, Kathy Bryant; a stepson and his wife, Robert and Trish Eaton; and two special friends, Eric Sawyers and Barbara King. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Eaton was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Roger Cox, Sr.; her second husband, Bobby Lee Eaton; a stepson, Ricky James Eaton; a sister, Tracy Walker; and three brothers, Stan Smith, Michael Smith, and Steven Smith. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joey Jessup and Vann McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until carried to the church for the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
