Faye Martin

Mrs. Faye  Earles Martin, 80, of Mt. Airy passed away at Central Continuing Care, Sunday, December 6, 2020.  She was born in Henry County, Virginia, December 18, 1939, to the late Rev. Dewey and Rives Hopkins Earles.  Mrs. Martin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She had an incredible sense of humor and loved to play practical jokes.  Growing up as a minster’s daughter, Mrs. Martin learned to play an organ at an early age.  She played an electronic keyboard as she and her husband sang in a gospel group and performed in various churches during much of the 59 years of their marriage.  She was a faithful member of Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church as long as her health permitted.  Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jacky Lee Martin; her daughter Susanne Martin, her son, Steve Martin; grandchildren, Steven Lee Martin, Jr., and Abby Martin.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church with Dr. David Sparks officiating.  Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM.  To respect current health concerns and restrictions, everyone is asked to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Flat Rock Pentecostal Church, 120 Pentecostal Church Rd., Mt.
