Mrs. Faye Frances Hawks Tate, 58, of Cana, VA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 20, 2010. Mrs. Tate was born March 27, 1952, in Carroll County, VA, to the Garland and Stella Akers Hawks. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Chris Burnette of Fancy Gap, VA; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Marlene Cagle and Brad and Kim Cagle, all of Cana, VA, and Jason and Chanda Cagle of Ararat, VA; stepdaughters, Tabitha Corns of Fancy Gap, VA, and Tammy Cole and her husband, Landon, of Hillsville, VA; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Juanita and Jackie Hawks, Louella and Melvin McMillian, and Linda and Rector Cagle, all of Cana, VA; brothers, Haywood Hawks and Vestal Hawks, both of Cana, VA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tate was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Tate. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Sechrist and the Rev. Ken Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Edwards Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 until the time of the service, and other times at the home of her sister, Louella McMillain, 1359 Sandy Ridge Road, Cana. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice for the wonderful care and love shown to Mrs. Tate during her illness.
