Fenten Marie McBride Pell

Mrs. Fenten Marie McBride Pell, age 71, wife of Rev. Willis Pell, II of Mt Airy passed away at her home, Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Mrs. Pell was born in Surry County, April 14, 1935 to the late Drew Harvey "Hub" and Lockie Eva Collins McBride. She was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church and was retired from Kentucky Derby Hosiery. Mrs. Pell and her husband were married over fifty years, and enjoyed singing in gospel groups including the Glory Road Quartet for many years. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Willis Pell, II of the home; two daughters, Deborah Lowe of Pilot Mtn., Carolyn Warren of Pinnacle; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Karen Pell of Hillsville, VA; three grandchildren, Christy Hernandez and husband, Marcos of Walkertown, Ami Isaacs of Roanoke, VA, Kayla Pell of Hillsville, VA; one great granddaughter, Isabella Grace Hernandez; one great grandson, due in May; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Viola Edwards of Mt. Airy, NC and Gloria and Melvin Snow of Ararat, VA and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pell was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Hosey. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Oak Ridge Baptist Church by Rev. David "Buster" Sechrist and Rev. Myron Dalton with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy where her body will remain until time to leave for the service to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
